Hairy Camels

These Mongolian Bactrian Camels (with their two humps) happily endure temperatures as low as -80°C, because of their warm hair and their hairiness.

‘Wherever is this blog entry going?’ you’re probably thinking.

Well, I wanted to mention these hairy friends as we’ve just received some Camel Hair sock samples from Mongolia and we’re very excited. The socks are extremely thick and warm and just what we’re after, but they are not for sale to customers. We’re developing them for one of our social initiatives for people that also have to endure sub-zero temperatures and will benefit greatly from being a tiny bit more camel like.

More on our camel related initiative later!
