Cheer up Garth Crooks!
It’s been ages since I sat down to watch Football Focus on a Saturday afternoon but at the weekend I did it! I got our TV out, made myself a nice warm brew and sat down ready for a rare dose of sporting speculation.
And I enjoyed my time with the guys on Football Focus, on the whole. But I couldn’t shake the niggling observation that Garth Crooks seemed to dampen the mood a little. He just wasn’t as jovial and upbeat at the other pundits. Of course, no-one can be happy all the time, and he might be having a tough week, or maybe this is how he is in general and I just haven’t noticed before.
But right at the end, as the camera panned out and the credits began to roll, it all became very clear as to why Garth wasn’t a happy chappy (in my humble opinion in any case). Garth wasn’t wearing any socks with his smart shoes and smart trousers! Bare foot in shoes on the BBC!
We will probably send Garth some of our Socks for Happy People. Keep your eyes peeled for his future appearances!

Rich - can you please be sure to differentiate me from Garth crooks more in future.. f you could aim to not use his and my name in the same blog space I would be much appreciative.. Much as I already am!
